Cachitos: healthy indulgence in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Cachitos is a sugar-free and gluten-free café on La Rambla. They needed a website that would earn the trust of people with coeliac disease and food intolerances from the very first second, and that would be easy to keep up to date with workshops, birthday parties and the month's promotions.
The challenge
A “sugar-free and gluten-free” café lives on trust: anyone with an allergy or intolerance needs to know, without a shadow of a doubt, what they can eat. At the same time, the business runs workshops, birthday parties and events almost every month, and they needed to be able to update that information themselves, without relying on anyone for every change.
On top of that, they had no website: the menu lived in a Google Drive file linked from their Instagram and in a QR code stuck up in the café itself. We gave that menu a professional home by building it straight into the website, organised by category and always up to date.
What we did
- Multi-page website Home, Menu, Orders, Workshops, Birthdays and Events, each with its own structure.
- Visual menu by category Packs, toasts, drinks and sweets laid out so you can order at a glance, with featured packs.
- Trust labels across the whole site “Gluten-free” and “no added sugar” visible from the home page, not tucked away in a footer.
- ES / EN language switcher Designed for the area's tourist customers.
- Monthly promotions banner Featured workshops and events right at the top, easy to update every month.
Designed to convert, not just to look good
Every screen has its own goal. The hero (the first screen any visitor sees, before they even scroll) isn't just a pretty photo: it carries its own calls to action, designed around what this business really needs.
- One-click ordering, no searching The first thing you see in the hero is the shortcuts to order through Glovo and Uber Eats.
- Opening hours always visible and up to date Without relying on someone remembering to change them by hand every season.
- A different call to action for each section “Order takeaway” and “Get directions” in the hero, “See the menu” in the navigation: no single generic button repeated across the whole site.
Results
Within the first few months, the website was already producing real numbers:
770 visits and 1,440 page views, with an average load time of 559 ms and Core Web Vitals in the green for the vast majority of visits (LCP, INP and CLS): exactly what Google prioritises when ranking a local website. Almost 2 page views per visit, too: people come in and explore the menu and the other sections, rather than just looking at the home page and leaving.
Technical details
Custom code, no generic templates: our own HTML, CSS and JavaScript so the website loads fast even with lots of product photos. It includes technical SEO (sitemap, robots.txt, Open Graph metadata for sharing on social media) and a GDPR-compliant cookie notice.
